After the "END" indicator turns green, find the tip of the purple color in the window of the cassette and record the number to the left of it. Using the CHOLESTEROL RESULT CHART, match the cassette reading to the corresponding cholesterol level in units of mg/dl. The cassette reading must be recorded within 30 minutes of performing the test.
Results will be provided through the mail from the manufacturer.
Cholesterol levels below 200 mg/dl place persons in the DESIRABLE GROUP, which places them at low risk for heart disease.
Cholesterol levels between 200 - 239 mg/dl places persons in the BORDERLINE- HIGH GROUP, which gives them an increased risk for heart disease. Persons in this group should consult a physician.
Cholesterol levels above 240 mg/dl places persons in the HIGH GROUP, which gives them an even greater risk of heart disease. Persons in this group should definitely seek advice from a physician.
